PLUS BRAND CELEBRATES 75 YEARS WITH KAMBLY LIVING CENTER

JUNE 4, 2024 – Plus Brand is pleased to have recently participated in the Kambly Living Center’s celebration of 75 years of caring in the community of Battle Creek, Michigan. On June 2nd, several hundred individuals gathered together in the city of Battle Creek to recognize the impact that the Kambly Living Center has had throughout its rich history of providing housing, education and assistance to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Plus Brand has proudly committed, through Agua Plus alkaline water, to provide the regular monthly water donations to the assisted living home in support of the wonderful resources that they provide to those they serve. 

“Agua Plus is just what Kambly Living Center was looking for,” said Kambly Living Center Administrator Connie Hawthorne. “Our residents are developmentally disabled adults. It is extremely hard to get them to drink enough water. As we all know, hydration is extremely important and having a bottle they can scratch their name or identifying marks into and carry with them is a fun way to get them to drink more water. Between the added minerals and electrolytes from Himalayan Sea salt to the taste our residents all love, this regular donation is a huge plus when it comes to helping us keep our residents & staff as healthy as we possibly can. The scratch feature is a great plus and was actually an important consideration when it came to Kambly using this water; It makes cross contamination almost non-existent and that is huge for a 30 person facility with 18 staff members. We’re so thankful to Mr. Willis and Plus Brand for supplying our operation with Agua Plus.”

The 75th anniversary was attended by Battle Creek Mayor Mark Behnke who, among others, demonstrated incredible support for the organization and the importance of the services that it provides. Founded by Viola Kambly as the Battle Creek School for Exceptional Children in 1949, the story has been an incredible one. With changing laws and regulations over the years, the school transitioned in 1989 to an adult foster care home in order to keep residents who had grown up with each other together. The longest resident has called Kambly home for 60 years! The family-home like environment continually works towards the goal of providing the opportunity for adults with developmental disabilities to achieve emotional, social and spiritual growth in a safe and secure homelike atmosphere.
